Building a Future Beyond Epilepsy

Founded by Esther Uwem George, BEA is on a mission to reshape how Africa understands, supports, and champions people living with epilepsy.

Esther Uwem George

Esther Uwem George is the founder and driving force behind Beyond Epilepsy Africa. A bold advocate, community builder, and public health champion, Esther launched BEA with a clear mandate: close the epilepsy care gap across Africa and build dignified, lasting support for every person affected.

Recognising that epilepsy in Africa is not just a medical issue but a social, cultural, and systemic one, Esther built BEA from the ground up - designing programs that address stigma, expand access to knowledge, and create genuine networks of community care that reach far beyond a clinic.

Today, Esther Uwem George leads BEA's growing reach across Africa, directing awareness campaigns, holistic support programs, and a community platform that connects and uplifts thousands of people living with epilepsy every day.
